Project Description:

PT Paragon Technology and Innovation, one of the leading cosmetic manufacturing company in Indonesia that produces cosmetic brand such as Wardah, Emina, Make Over and others, has proposed to do collaboration project for in vitro evaluation of one of their skincare product in the form of serum and toner as an anti-aging treatment together with I3L. By measuring how the product would affect the production of extracellular matrices (ECM) component that are markers for anti-aging such as collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid from fibroblasts as an evidence of skin elasticity and vitality, cosmetic manufacturers can claim the efficacy of their product for anti-aging treatment following proposed mechanism that are proven through in vitro result of the product. This study is based on how the treatment of fibroblast cells with the product would affect the ECM production such as collagen I, elastin and hyaluronic acid. The project will include measuring ECM expression through ELISA in human fibroblasts cell line with product treatment as well as related measurements to evaluate the viability of the fibroblasts cell line upon contact with the product.
