Project Description:

PT. Derma Lab Asia (Skinproof) is a subsidiary of PT. Arya Noble, a strategic & investment holding company. The collaboration was initiated to analyze the expression of genes responsible in skin moisturizing and barrier function, as previously has been reviewed by i3L’s Biomedicine 2018 internees during credit internship period in Skinproof. The selected genes will be evaluated based on their Ct values on two forearms of a person, where one is treated with a moisturizer provided by Skinproof, and the other is left untreated. The result will determine the robustness of gene expression technique against other available methods, such as instrumental testing. The project will involve healthy male and female subjects with dry skin conditions. The subjects will be conditioned for a month prior to treatment. The treatment period will run for a month, with biweekly sample collection. In addition, confirmatory tests of gene expression will be done.
