Project Description:

PT. Derma Lab Asia (Skinproof) is a subsidiary of PT Arya Noble, a strategic & investment holding company. Skinproof has proposed to do a collaboration project for an in vivo evaluation of deodorant products from PT. Erha Medicals to analyze their antimicrobial capabilities. The Evaluation of the antimicrobial capabilities of the products will be achieved by comparing the microbial load on one armpit of a person treated with the deodorant against the other armpit that is not treated with the deodorant. The in vivo results of this study will give the basis for the cosmetic manufacturer to claim the antimicrobial efficacy of their product based on obtained in vivo results. The scope of this project will include the antimicrobial capability measurement of the deodorant when applied to the armpits of healthy Indonesian male subjects. The application of the deodorant will be in the morning and swab samples of the subject’s armpits will be taken throughout the day. The microbial load of a subject’s treated and untreated armpit will be compared by plating the swab samples on agar plates and counting the number of colonies formed to analyze the antimicrobial activity of the deodorant.
